The analyser will reconstruct transfers from public gameweek squads and compare them with a no-transfer estimate.

What It Does

What is an FPL transfer analyser?

An FPL transfer analyser looks back at a manager's public gameweek squads and asks a sharper question than “did the new player score?”: what changed compared with keeping the previous squad?

TallyKind compares actual net points with a no-transfer estimate, then shows immediate, 3-GW, 5-GW and season-to-date transfer impact so a one-week blank does not unfairly define a decision.

Methodology

How transfer value is calculated

The analyser compares consecutive gameweek squads. Players missing from the next squad are treated as transfers out and new player IDs are treated as transfers in. Multiple moves are paired by position where possible, using official public FPL player IDs.

The main transfer value is incoming player points minus outgoing player points over the selected window, with transfer hits deducted. Captaincy is shown separately so a captain return is not credited to the transfer by accident.

Counterfactuals

How “what if I made no transfer?” works

For each GW the no-transfer line keeps the previous public squad, starting structure, captain and bench order, then applies a sensible autosub-style replacement when a selected player records no appearance.

A separate passive GW1 comparison keeps the original GW1 squad through the season. That is not the same as undoing one transfer: it is a broader measure of Manager Value Added against doing nothing all year.

Hits and Chips

Was taking a -4 worth it?

A hit only pays off if the transferred-in players beat the players removed by enough points over the relevant window. The analyser shows immediate and longer-window impact because a sensible -4 may look poor after one GW but good after three or five.

Wildcards and Free Hits are treated as squad-reset chips rather than normal transfer pairs, because those gameweeks change the decision problem.

FAQs

FPL Transfer Analyser FAQs

Does this need my transfer history?

No. It reconstructs transfer changes by comparing public gameweek squads. If a manager has hidden or unavailable public data for a GW, that gameweek is skipped rather than fabricated.

Why can immediate returns mislead?

Transfers are often made for fixture runs, minutes security or price structure. The 3-GW and 5-GW windows show whether the decision improved after the first result.

Does captaincy count as transfer value?

It is reported separately. If you transferred in a player and captained them, the player swap and the armband decision are different management decisions.

Is the counterfactual exact?

No public tool can perfectly know every private intention, price constraint or deadline context. The counterfactual is a transparent estimate using public picks, official points and documented lineup assumptions.
